Our main tour consists of an informational discussion about the history and ecology of the Thousand Islands. We give a brief demonstration on paddling for the beginner paddlers. (This is all you need. It’s easy!) We will help you in and out of the boat. After this, we’re off for 2 1/2 hours of exploration and adventure. The Thousand Islands is one of the most unique and interesting paddling areas in Florida.

One of our secondary tours consists of paddling out to a small island in the Indian River from Manatee Cove Park. Manatee Cove is aptly named and it is full of manatees in the spring, summer and fall. The sea grasses in this shallow area are lush. This can be used as a 2 hour paddle or camping overnight.

Our sunset tour is a nice way to end a relaxing day. We will paddle out past the mangrove islands to get a view of the sun setting across the water over Merritt Island.

Our bioluminescence tour awes everyone, including us, in the early summer to fall months. We paddle out just before darkness falls and wait for the phenomenon. This natural light show is caused by billions of dinoflagellates (microscopic animals) which multiply when the water is warm enough and nutrients are right. The water sparkles with glowing fish and every stroke of your paddle looks like a light saber from Star Wars cutting through the water. This tour will have an additional expense.

All tours are weather permitting and every tour includes instructions, sunscreen, kayak, paddle, pfd (personal floatation device), and water.
